Laughing stock of world football

Phew, just a few days ago we wrote about the England football team. And look at what just happened to them. Only after one game, Big Sam is no more. Poor England, what a shocker, right? Or maybe it wasn't really a surprise. We don't know. We guess you know better.

The great Alan Shearer claimed that England were now the “laughing stock of world football” while according to former England defender Rio Ferdinand, "The football community around the world will be laughing at us. It just feels like a comical event.."

The truth is, no one is laughing. We don't think so, at least that is what we do know. Actually, the English people might just feel embarrassed with themselves and that's all. No one is perfect, not one ever except God obviously. Yet, why can't we give Mr. Allardyce a break. Yes, what he did was a mistake, but didn't he unknowingly fell into a trap? Even if he was already accused of being like that before, he is now being punished and his image has been badly tarnished because of this recent man-made disaster. Just give him space to realize the consequences of his own actions which is what he supposedly deserves.

So who will be the next England manager? For now, it would be Gareth Southgate as the caretaker (interim manager). But should someone like Arsene Wenger accepts the task, let's say in 2017, then he will be the man to revolutionize the whole England team. God willing, it's going to be very interesting when the new brand of playing short and slick passing game in the final third replaces the old long-ball kind of football next time we see England on the pitch. The excitement will be like getting a new playing field.

Big Sam was exposed by what they call investigative journalism.

P.S.:
Maybe the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) would like to try hiring Mr Sam Allardyce after all of this circus calms down. He still can be generally considered of course, provided he is cleared by The FA and FIFA to continue his participation in football. Everyone deserves a second chance and Malaysia has nothing to lose. However, it surely depends on the level of commitment to bring success for the country and not just for the money.
